Doryful of Newfoundland Laughs (A) by Derm Duggan
Until this book was penned, the author was unknown. But we think you’ll agree
as you ramble through these pages, that he should stick to his guns—and stay
unknown. Here is a book that you simply will not be able to put down (if our
special invisible glue works). There’s something for everyone on every page—if
you don’t have at least a few good chuckles, then just return this book and
we’ll keep the money.
A couple of samples:
New bride: "The two best things I cook are fish and brewis, and Jiggs
dinner."
New groom: "Which one is this, dearest."
George, from Hearts Content, was staying at the Inn on the Park in
Toronto.
In the bar, George struck up a conversation with a tourist from Texas.
"Where are you from?" asked George.
"I'm from the greatest place in the whole wide world," drawled the
Texan.
"You sure could've fooled me," said George. "You don't sound a bit like
a Newfoundlander!"
