Newfoundland Sea Stories: a source of Maritime History

If you enjoy sea stories we have a collection of books that offer you some diversity for your reading pleasure. Our Sea Stories are based on experiences around the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador as well as other areas of the North Atlantic where fishing and seafaring were fraught with danger.

These sea stories present the everyday struggles of fishermen and other Atlantic mariners, some of whom were lucky to survive threatening situations but others were not so lucky. Read about the disasters that occurred when hunting seals on the ice fields off the coast or the loss of life when ships lost their bearing in fog, ice, or raging storms. Pick the Newfoundland Sea Stories thriller that appeals to you.

This section provides some of the most exciting reading in our entire portfolio. For example, Cassie Brown tells the story of the loss of the S.S. Florizel in 1918 when 93 lives were lost in spite of the heroic efforts of the lands-people in the area. They saved 44 during a raging storm near Cape Race.

Other writers tell no less exciting tales of woe with the loss of the many small ships that were wrecked along the wind swept coast of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our Sea Stories offer an interesting dimension to any library.
